Advancing Knowledge Through Research
At PULSE, we see research as a vital step in becoming a future physician. It gives students the chance to ask questions, challenge ideas, and share new perspectives in medicine. Guided by a physician mentor, each student selects a topic to explore, building critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills along the way.
Every cycle, mentees present their projects at the PULSE Research Symposium, celebrating curiosity, innovation, and mentorship while preparing for the path ahead in medicine.

Research Symposium
Each cycle our students have the opportunity to engage in a mini research project with their mentor. This includes a short literary review on a topic of interest. Students present for 5-7 minutes on their topic sharing what they have learned regarding new and cutting edge research in the field. This is meant to be a casual and supportive environment for students to learn and practice presenting on medical research!

Publications
The PULSE Publication offers students the opportunity to expand upon their symposium presentations and transform them into formal research papers. This initiative celebrates the intellectual curiosity and dedication of PULSE scholars, providing a platform to share their research with a broader academic and professional audience.
Each publication reflects months of research and collaboration across fields such as medicine, biology, and public health. Through student-led research, PULSE fosters academic growth, scientific curiosity, and leadership while inspiring continued exploration within the scientific community.
